The Coalfied Progress had an article today about UVa-Wise's potential move to NCAA
D2. It sounds like they are finally starting to make strides with funding and scholarships. The football and men's basketball teams both seem to have a very strong recuiting class coming in this fall. Does anyone have any additional info on how things are going within the athletic dept. Is this NCAA D2 move an initial step to even bigger moves? Perhaps even NCAA D1? With the new convocation center coming online this fall, it seems that all the chips are falling into place for great stides to be taken by UVA-Wise athletics.

I believe they did look into NCAA back in the mid 90's. I would imagine they are in a much better situation now than they were then. Especially with scholarships and facilities.
It was before the name changed from Clinch Valley College to the University of Virginia's College at Wise, mid- to late-90s. D2 is not to be taken lightly.
Looking for my Darcy, but finding only Wickham. Right now, I'd settle for Bingley.
They got rocked in the NAIA they def wont compete in NCAA
